Ex-Preasy has been looking for a home after the organization released its team last month due to “challenges that lay within the core business that finances Preasy Esport”. In an unexpected turn of events, they will be representing Grannys Knockers.
Granny Knockers is a well-known community in the UK scene, notably playing The Binmen in the EPIC.LAN 40 showmatch. Unlike other show matches, this one was all based around charity. The UK scene rallied behind them and raised £2,714 for Breast Cancer UK. Alongside this, Granny Knockers has accumulated £5,870 for the charity.
Previously, Grannys Knockers have had teams representing the brand with a few known UK players such as Zaki “Danceyz” Dance, Josh “Yoshwa” Ryley, and Michael “Prime” John Fury. They have even had Major attendee David “DAVEY” Stafford attempt to qualify for UKIC Invitational Winter 2022 with the Knockers.
However, they will leave the UK scene for a second time – a Romanian team played for Grannys Knockers in the Esport Tour 2022: Series #4 – with a fascinating new top-tier Danish team.
After their exit from Preasy, Ex-Preasy have continued playing with Nikolaj “niko” Kristensen and Johannes “b0RUP” Borup in replacement for Fredrik “roej” Jørgensen and Alexander “Altekz” Givskov. niko comes off the back of an unsuccessful stint in 00Nation. The roster started superbly with a win in the Pinnacle Cup V beating out FURIA and Astralis. However, they never could continue that level of success. Since being benched he played with Sashi for a short time alongside b0RUP whereby they won the POWER Ligaen Season 25 over Astralis Talent.
Outside of his three months with Sashi, b0RUP brings a lot of recent high-level experience from his time on Astralis making a top-four appearance at IEM Cologne 2023. B0RUP is no stranger to playing at a top level as he won four online tournaments in 2022 with Copenhagen Flames.
Kristoffer “Kristou” Aamand had been playing with Preasy before they got dropped and now continues to play with them, fixing their lack of AWPer issue. He joins the duo of Ismail “refrezh” Ali and Thomas “TMB” Bundsbæk from the previous Preasy roster.
The squad will continue without their coach Daniel “Vorborg” Vorborg as he searches for new opportunities. The Danes have continued competing in multiple online tournaments such as Elisa Invitational Spring 2024 and CCT Season 2 Europe Series 1.
During the time that the team is representing Granny Knockers, the organisation will be hosting weekly fundraisers. The entire aim of the collaboration is to raise money for breast cancer awareness. It is clear that Grannys Knockers focuses on its charity work and now they are creating a bigger platform for it.
Grannys Knockers will be:
Thomas “TMB” Bundsbæk
Ismail “refrezh” Ali
Kristoffer “Kristou” Aamand
Nikolaj “niko” Kristensen
Johannes “b0RUP” Borup
